Between Seasons

Summer has not quite left us, and autumn has not quite arrived. For now, they seem content to share the same days. Morning brings coolness through an open window, a slight breeze stirring the leaves, birdsong rising into the quiet. By afternoon, the sun has warmed the patios and people wander outside again. Neighbors walk together. Friends linger in conversation. Somewhere, dice roll across a table, followed by laughter. Nothing remarkable, perhaps. And yet, everything is here. For a little while, the world seems to have found its balance. Summer loosens its hold. Autumn waits without hurry. And we are given this small space between the two— a place of contentment, balance, harmony. There will always be another season coming. Another change we cannot hold back. But today, the breeze is gentle, the sun is warm, the birds are singing, and people I know are gathered together enjoying an ordinary afternoon. All is good in the world at these times. And I am grateful for the moments. ~ Wren 🐦‍⬛

A little more quiet, whenever you need it.

Stay awhile

Keep wandering
